Kingspan Timber Solutions was one of the first construction product manufacturers in the UK to achieve ISO 37301:2021 certification. In doing this our business has demonstrated it’s commitment to maintaining a culture of compliance across all aspects of our work, and to constantly improving our practices.

ISO 37301:2021 is the new global standard for Compliance Management Systems. It replaces ISO 19600:2014, and expands on the requirements of the old standard in a number of areas. ISO 37301 is a Type A management systems standard and certification can only be achieved after businesses have been audited by an appropriate independent third party. The assessment process is focused on six core areas:

• Leadership
• Planning
• Support
• Operation;
• Performance evaluation
• Improvement

There are many requirements to be addressed in each of these areas and, as with all ISO certification, if businesses wish to maintain the certification then it is necessary to maintain to a process ongoing audits. This provides assurance that standards are maintained over time and that businesses are properly committing to the goal of continual improvement and establishing and maintaining a positive culture of compliance across their organisation.

To achieve the certification our business not only had to possess a well developed Compliance Management System, but also demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement in all areas.

The Compliance Management System covers all aspects of work at our factory and office, from product development and site operations, to marketing and technical services. It supports and further enhances the existing integrated management systems operated in our business, covering ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environment) and ISO 45001 (Health & Safety).

This new accreditation means that customers can have real confidence that the advice, technical information and products we supply have been carefully scrutinised to ensure they meet, or improve on, the compliance criteria for relevant industry standards. For example you can be confident that the systems we provide are manufactured using the correct products, achieve the U-values we state they do, are supported with an extensive suite of thermal bridging calculations and crucially, fire resistance test evidence. The regulatory environment surrounding the construction industry is undergoing extensive change and those involved in the design and construction of buildings need confidence that the businesses they are working with provide products that are safe and perform as intended – our ISO 37301 certification.
