The project

To supply specialist panel frames for 185 new homes at Hanham Hall, the first site in the government’s Carbon Challenge initiative. The houses were constructed using Kingspan TEK® prefabricated structural insulated panel building system.

The design

Hanham Hall is the first site in the government's Carbon Challenge initiative and one of the first zero-carbon communities in England. For this reason, Kingspan TEK® structural insulated panels were chosen for this project, due to its thermal performance and airtightness levels to reach Passivhaus standard.

We chose Kingspan Timber Solutions because of their experience and since the project began there has been a great working relationship between HTA, Barratts and Kingspan. Our sustainability team worked with Kingspan's technical experts to assess the SAP calculations from an early stage.
