The Project

Our Great Wakering project consisted of a site of four contemporary dwellings for a small developer in Essex. They chose to work with Kingspan Timber Solutions because they liked the ease and convenience of our factory-produced Kingspan ULTIMA 19 building system, which combines thermal performance with a slim wall build-up, creating more internal floor area.

The Design

The Kingspan ULTIMA 19 building system was the perfect choice for the developer of this project. As timber frame is an offsite method of construction, it increased the speed of build, enabling a faster route to market. It also reduced the developer's workload, as Kingspan Timber Solutions provided and erected the frames, ready for him to reach the weathertight stage very quickly. Kingspan ULTIMA 19 came with the additional benefit of being able to meet the required levels of thermal performance and airtightness. Our design team worked closely with the client's architect to create the vaulted ceilings and open-glazed front gables. The versatility of timber-frame construction meant the developer could achieve the contemporary features they specified, without compromise, creating these stunning finished houses.
